Andijan State Medical Institute was founded in 1955 in Andijan.

Today at the institute faculties of medicine, pediatrics, dentistry and in the areas of vocational education, higher nursing, pharmacy, medical prevention bachelors and masters in 29 specialties. In addition, the faculty of advanced training and retraining of doctors has organized advanced training courses for doctors of the valley regions.
