Approved November 1946, 17 at the World Student Congress in Prague. Of course, this holiday is remembered as youth, cheerfulness and romance. But its history is linked to the tragic events that began in Czechoslovakia during World War II. On October 1939, 28, students and their teachers in Prague, Czechoslovakia, staged a demonstration by the Nazis to celebrate the Czechoslovak State Education Day (October 1918, 28). The invaders dispersed the protesters. But in the riot, medical student Jan Opletal was shot dead. The funeral of Jan Opletal on November 1939, 15, turned into a protest. On the morning of November 17, the Gestapo and the Essays surrounded the student dormitory. More than 1200 students were arrested and imprisoned in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. Activists of 9 student movements were killed without trial, within the prison walls in Ruzine district. In addition, by the end of the war, all higher education institutions in the Czech Republic were closed. Based on these events, the World Student Congress has decided to hold an International Students' Day. Today, many countries around the world celebrate this holiday.

November 17 is Black Cat Day in Italy. It is well known that in many nations, black cats are known to “bring misfortune”. Every year, thousands of black cats disappear or are killed by humans. David Livingston was the first European to see Victoria Falls

November 17 is International Day of Premature Babies around the world. It was established in 2009 at the initiative of the European Foundation for the Care of Premature Babies. Every year, about 15 million children on our planet are born prematurely, that is, on average, every tenth child born prematurely. More than a million of these children die at birth, and many suffer from physical and mental disabilities or experience various problems in the learning process. According to statistics, premature births account for almost half of all deaths in newborns worldwide. In recent years, there has been a stabilization of premature births. It is known that newborns are very vulnerable, but premature babies come first. The problem of premature birth is not sufficiently assessed by the public. Doctors are trying to get more attention to this problem.
