Oral candidiasis in children (thrush, thrush)

This disease is a fungal infection of the mucous membrane of the oral cavity. Causes: Candida albicans, Candida tropicans, Candida crusei.

The main cause of illness is vomiting and retching.

Acute oral candidiasis is divided into 3 forms:
- light
- medium heavy
- heavy

The main symptom of the disease is the coating of the mucous membrane of the oral cavity (the inner wall of the tongue, palate and cheeks). In addition, there is redness on the mucous membrane and discomfort in the child. A white tongue is not always a sign of illness, as the tongue may turn white after drinking milk.

In severe cases, because swallowing is painful, the child refuses to suck and feed from a bottle.
