Biography of Hamza Umarov

Hamza Umarov was born on December 1925, 17 in the city of Kokand, Fergana region.
The actor voluntarily joined the army in 1943 and took part in World War II. In 1944, he returned to Uzbekistan due to severe injuries received in the war. In 1946, he began working at the Actors' Studio at Uzbekfilm.
Later he studied at the Tashkent Department of Theater and Fine Arts.
 
After graduation, he began his career at the Uzbek State Musical Drama Theater named after Muqimi. During his career in this theater, Hamza Umarov has created various characters in more than 50 performances. 
The actor has also starred in more than 60 films, including “Gossip in the Neighborhood,” “Duel Under the Plane Tree,” and “Shumbola,” which won the audience’s attention.

Hamza Umarov is well known to our people as a master of the art of dubbing, and during his career he participated in the dubbing of about 4000 films.
Through his many years of work, he was awarded the title of "People's Artist of Uzbekistan" in 1967, and in 1970 was awarded the State Prize named after Hamza.
The actor has also been awarded several orders and medals as a participant in World War II.
 
About the actor's personal life: Hamza Umarov had three children, including his son Shukhrat Umarov, who was an actor like his father. The actor starred in several films with his father Hamza Umarov.
 
Hamza Umarov died on November 1987, 27 at the age of 62. The actor was buried in Chigatay Cemetery in Tashkent.
Although Hamza Umarov is no longer alive, he will live a lifetime in the hearts of fans with his unique images.
