How much counterfeit money is there in the world?
Some of the negative effects of counterfeit money on society are that the real value of money decreases and the amount of money in circulation in the economy increases, leading to higher prices (inflation).
Every year, countries do a lot of work to prevent counterfeit money from entering the market. By 2022, the counterfeit currency market could reach $ 2,8 trillion. Those who work in this field can earn up to $ 650 a year.
Unfortunately, counterfeit money is actively spreading in our country as well. It should be noted that counterfeiting of money and securities is punishable under Article 176 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (counterfeiting, production of excise stamps or securities, their transfer).
