How much money is there on earth?
- It is difficult to determine the correct number, but this quantity has a separate name and is divided into four categories, namely M0, M1, M2 and M3.
M0: This is the smallest measure of money supply, which includes common evolutionary coins and banknotes. That's a little over $ 5 trillion. It’s really huge, but it’s less than 10 percent of the total money we spend.
M1: This includes all physical money, required deposits, checking account and NOW (order of withdrawal) account. The M1 is worth $ 25 trillion.
M2: This is a broader classification of cash, to which M1 is added, and quickly non-cash assets, such as deposits, money market investment funds, etc., M2 equals $ 60 trillion.
M3: This includes M2 and institutional money market funds, large-term deposits, short-term repurchase agreements, and more. The M3 global money supply is worth $ 75 trillion.
