The island of Palma is called the eighth wonder of the world. It is the second largest human-made object visible from space. The first, as you know, is the Great Wall of China. Palm Island was built in 2001-2006 from sand mined from the bottom of the Persian Gulf. Currently, a total of 1400 villas and 32 hotels operate on the island of Palma. The total length of the coast of the island is 78 km. At first, it was estimated that 120 thousand people will live on the island of Jumeirah, but when Palma was first presented to the public, all the houses were sold within 3 days, and it was decided to increase the number of buildings. The Dubai authorities plan that by 2020, about 1,7 million people will live on this island.
