The first cyber attack in history
The first cyberattack in history was accidentally committed by Robert Tappan Morris, a 20-year-old graduate student at Cornell University (USA). He wanted to know how big the Internet is, that is, how many devices are connected to it.
So he wrote a computer-to-computer program that resulted in Morris infecting 6200 computers in the United States.
Morris, a developer, was sentenced to three years of probation, a fine of $10 and 400 hours of community service.
DDos was the first cyberattack accidentally carried out by Robert Tappan Morris.
