The first holy mosques on earth
The Masjid al-Haram is the largest and most prestigious mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, built for Muslims to worship. It is narrated on the authority of Abu Dharr that one day the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was asked, “Which mosque was built on earth?” I asked. They replied, "The Holy Mosque." "Then which one?" I said. He said, "Masjid al-Aqsa." (Narrated by Imam Bukhari, Imam Muslim).
