The oldest epic work.

▪️The most historical epic literary works are in Mesopotamia, which is called "Gilgamesh". Gilgamesh, the greatest work of the ancient East, was written in the Akkadian language in the XVIII-XVII centuries BC, based on Sumerian sayings.

Several complete versions of it have been found in Nineveh, in the cuneiform library of the king of Assyria, in nineteenth-century excavations. Since there were no paper books at the time, the whole story was created in a six-column, 12-table small cuneiform text. Today, there are electronic versions of Gilgamish.
