QUESTION:
Dear teachers, who should sacrifice? If you provide detailed information about the precepts of sacrifice in general.
ANSWER:
Bismillahir Rohmanir Rahim.
Sacrifice is one of the slogans of Islam. On the day of Eid al-Adha, Allah commands us to perform the Eid prayer and to offer sacrifices to those who are able. This is stated in the Qur'an:
Faṣalĩ lirabĩka wān̊ḥar̊ (swrẗ ạlkwtẖr / 2)
That is, "So pray to your Lord and sacrifice (the camel)." (Surat al-Kawthar, 2)
Our citizens described the meaning of sacrifice and said, "Sacrifice is the slaughter of a particular animal at a specific time." The sacrifice was valid on the second Hijri date. According to the Hanafi Madhhab, sacrifice is obligatory. It is obligatory on a Muslim who is free, has reached the age of puberty, is intelligent, stable, that is, has not traveled, and has the nisab of zakat. The time of sacrifice begins at dawn on the day of Eid and leaves at sunset on the third day of Eid. Sacrifice begins after the Eid prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
N Albro stand ʿạzb Qal Qal ạlnby blessings suhoor: An AWL Ma nbdạ BH FY ywmnạ hdẖạ An nṣly̱ then NRJ fnnḥr FMN FL fqd nervous sntnạ Each dẖbḥ qbl ạlṣlạẗ fạnmạ hw LHM qdmh lạhlh lys eg ạlnsk FY shy '
(روحه العمام البكري).
That is, “Indeed, the first thing we start today is to perform the Eid prayer and then return to our homes. Whoever does that has acted in accordance with our circumcision. Whoever slaughters it before the Eid prayer, it is not a sacrifice, but the meat he offers for his people. ”(Reported by al-Bukhari).
Sacrificial animals include cattle, camels, sheep, and goats. Both males and females of these animals can be sacrificed if they are slaughtered. No other animals can be sacrificed.
A camel with cattle can be slaughtered in partnership with up to 7 people. In doing so, all partners must be Muslims and have the intention of sacrifice. But if one of them is simply added for meat, the sacrifice of all the other partners will not pass. Particular attention should also be paid to the equal distribution of the meat of the slaughtered animal among the partners on the scales.
The purpose of sacrifice is to show obedience and piety to the servant of Allah. Allah the Almighty says:
Lan̊ yanāla ạllãha luḥūmuhā walā dimāwủhā walakin̊ yanāluhu ạltãq̊way̱ min̊kum̊ kadẖalika sakẖãrahā lakum̊ litukabĩrūạ ạllãha ʿalay̱ mā hadākum̊ wabasẖĩri ạl̊muḥ̊sinīna (swrẗ).
That is, “Neither their flesh nor their blood reaches Allah. But he fears you. He has made them subservient to you, because God has guided you, so that you may glorify Him. Give good news to those who do good! ” (Surat al-Hajj, 37)
This means that the person who makes the sacrifice must have the right intention and do his deeds for the sake of Allah. Furthermore, in doing so, the greatness of Allah and the greatness of His religion will be revealed. Vallohu a'lam.
