Aleksandr Blok

Alexander Blok (1880-1921) is one of the bright stars of Russian poetry of the XNUMXth century.

His first collection in 1904 was called "Poems about the Beautiful Bonu". The collection is dedicated to his wife Lyubov Dmitroyevna (daughter of chemist D. Mendeleev). Initially, Alexander Blok was known as a Symbolist (https://uz.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simvolizm) poet. In 1905, under the influence of revolutionary changes, he gave up symbolism (https://uz.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symbolizm) and wrote "City", "Motherland", "Terrible World", "Revenge" series of poems and "The Spectator" on the social theme. He wrote dramas such as "Rose and Cross".

For 5 months after the Bolsheviks seized power, Alexander Blok wrote the epic "Twelve" and the article "Intellectuals and Revolution" and tried to creatively observe the events of October and the fate of Russia. After March 1918, until the end of his life, he did not write any new work, but was busy finishing the poem "Revenge".

Why cry, eternity is great,
Suffering in the fire of love is happiness.
