August 19 - International Day of Homeless Animals

International Homeless Animal Day is celebrated every year on the third Saturday of August. It aims to raise awareness about pet overpopulation and the homeless problem, as well as promote adoption and neutering programs.

The goal of International Homeless Animal Day is to reduce the number of homeless animals around the world by encouraging people to adopt from shelters instead of buying from breeders or pet stores. It also aims to promote sterilization as a means of controlling pet overpopulation and preventing more animals from ending up on the streets or in overcrowded shelters.

Whether it's adopting a pet or volunteering at an animal shelter, anyone can help reduce animal homelessness on International Homeless Animal Day.
