Eshqabil Shukur (1962)

Eshqobil Shukur was born on July 1962, 20 in the village of Boymoqli, Kumkurgan district, Surkhandarya region. He studied at the Faculty of Philology of Tashkent State University (now the National University of Uzbekistan).

He worked as an editor of Uzbek television (1985-1992), deputy editor-in-chief of Saodat magazine (1992-1994), and editor-in-chief of the State Press Committee (1994-1995). Since 1995, he has been the editor-in-chief of the Uzbekiston TV channel and the Ma`naviyat magazine (2014).

His work dates back to the 80s, when he wrote his first poems, such as "Inscriptions to Ancient Inscriptions" and "The Loss of My Grandmother." This was followed by the collections of poems "Study of the Heart" (1986), "Hair Sumbul-Sumbul" (1988), "Night Flowers" (1989), and "Green Birds" (1995). The book "Night Flowers" was awarded the prize of the Republican Youth Organization named after Usmon Nasir. Eshqobil Shukur's prose works such as "Legends of the Old Garden" (2005), "Evening of the End", "Padarkush" and dramatic epics "Mistake of the Beginning", "Naqshband", "Broken Moments", "Journey to Nasayim-ul Muhabbat", " He is also the author of short stories such as "Migration of the World", "In the Reserve", "The Counting Money". The poet's works have been translated into English, Russian, Turkish, Azerbaijani and other foreign languages.

In 2012, Eshqobil Shukur was awarded the title of "Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Uzbekistan." He is the recipient of the Recognition Award (2013). In 2016, he won the Golden Pen International National Award.
