Imam al-Bukhari Memorial Complex is an architectural monument and shrine in Samarkand. On the basis of the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 29, 1225 "On the celebration of the 1998th anniversary of the birth of Imam al-Bukhari according to the Hijri-Lunar calendar", a special memorial complex was built on the site of the mausoleum. This memorial complex was built in XNUMX by folk masters of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Tashkent, Andijan, Namangan, Kokand, Shakhrisabz on the basis of a project created under the leadership of President Islam Karimov.
The complex will first serve as a place of pilgrimage, a holy shrine, and then a place for daily, Friday and Eid prayers. It is also intended to carry out the study of the science of hadith. The master plan of the memorial complex is decorated with buildings (mausoleums, mosques, administrative and other structures) built on the basis of traditional national architectural solutions (roof, porch, dome, porch, etc.). In the center of the mausoleum there is a sagana made of white transparent onyx stone. From the door on the right side of the mausoleum, the stairs lead down to the lower floor of the mausoleum - the hut. The tomb of Imam al-Bukhari is covered with marble, just below the sagan on the top floor. To the left of the courtyard is a mosque. The total area of ​​the mosque is 786 sq.m.
