Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami was established on September 1935, 14 by the decision of the Commissariat of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan No 1364 on the basis of the pedagogical faculty of the Central Asian State University.
In accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 1998 of February 2, 77, the Tashkent State Pedagogical Institute named after Nizami was granted the status of a university.
