Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi (former Tashkent Institute of Electrical Communication) was founded in 1955. On May 2002, 30 by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan PF-3080 it was transformed into Tashkent University of Information Technologies. On June 2005, 2 by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-91 regional branches of TUIT were established in Karshi, Samarkand, Urgench and Fergana.
As part of the University and its regional branches 13 faculties, 62 departments education 23 direction including 8 new bachelor's degrees and 9 new master's degrees.
TATTOO - TODAY
  • 1955 - Tashkent Institute of Electrical Communication (TEAI)
  • 1960 - The first generation of telecommunications engineers is trained
  • 1978 - Base points of the correspondence faculty of TEAI were established in Frunze (now Bishkek), Dushanbe, Almaty and Fergana.
  • 1993 - A special faculty for the training of communications officers was established at the TEAI Institute
  • 1994 - The Central Asian Telecommunication Training Center (SAUTST) was established at the Institute to improve the skills of engineers and technicians of the Central Asian republics and the communications networks of Mongolia, Pakistan and India.
  • 1997 - a lyceum-boarding school was opened at the institute
  • 1999 - Academic lyceum was opened at the institute
  • 2002 - By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan TEAI was renamed Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT)
  • 2005 - Regional branches of TUIT were established in Karshi, Nukus, Samarkand, Urgench and Fergana
