On September 1972, 1, the Tashkent Motor Roads Institute was established on the basis of the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute's Faculty of Motor Vehicles and Roads.

Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 2016, 26 No PP-2580 "On measures to improve training in the field of design, construction and operation of roads" and Higher and Secondary Special Education According to the order of the Ministry of Transport and Communications No. 2016 of August 29, 362, the Tashkent Institute of Motor Roads was reorganized as the Tashkent Institute of Design, Construction and Operation of Motor Roads.

This institute is the only higher education institution in the Central Asian region in this field.
