In September 1930, the Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute was established. In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PF-1992 of February 28, 356 and the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 1992 of March 11, 125 university status was given.

After the Bukhara Pedagogical Institute was granted the status of a University, the opportunities expanded even more. Currently, the university has 8 faculties, 43 departments and a special correspondence department and a training center. The university has 36 bachelor's degrees, 22 master's degrees, 23 postgraduate degrees and 4 doctoral degrees.
