Apple AirPods are a wireless headset that can be used in addition to listening to music, as a headset for the disabled, or even as a spy auxiliary device. It turns out that iOS has a feature that amplifies and controls the sound received by the iPhone directly to the headset.

The Live Listen feature basically turns AirPods into regular hearing aids. To enable it, you need to open "Settings", go to "Control Point" -> Add "Control Settings" and "Hearing". Once activated, this function is available via the “Checkpoint” which opens by swiping up from the bottom edge of the screen. Next, after removing the AirPods from charging, you need to open the bottom cover, tap the ear icon, and press the “Live Listening” button.

Now a user who is hard of hearing can bring an iPhone microphone to another person for better hearing. This feature can also be used to listen to other people's conversations: for example, you need to leave the iPhone on the audio source, for example, on the desk and away from the Bluetooth signal (about 15-20 meters).

AirPods are Apple’s most popular accessory, and it appeared in late 2016. The second generation of this device is expected to be released in the first half of 2019.
