What is phimosis?

Due to the narrowing of the edge of the penis, it causes the head of the penis to remain bare. Phimosis occurs in boys aged 3-5 years.

There are 3 types:
-hypertrophic
-atrophic
-scattered
(The picture shows the atrophic type)

The child urinates with difficulty, there is discomfort and pain during urination. Swelling and redness are observed in the groin area.

If not treated in time, paraphimosis, balanoposthitis, cystitis, pyelonephritis can develop due to urinary retention and infection!

Up to 1 year old will be physiological, no treatment required!
In children older than 1 year is treated with an operative way - circumcision (circumcision).
