What happens if a third party is harmed as a result of a collision between two cars?
According to Article 999 of the Civil Code:
- If the incident occurs through the fault of one of the parties, that party will cover all damages.
- If both parties are guilty, each of them will compensate the damage at the level of guilt in a separate order. When it is not possible to determine the degree of fault of the parties, both parties shall compensate the damage in equal amounts.
- No one will be liable if the victim was harmed by the intentional actions of a third party.
