"Since I became the caliph, no one has been as open to me as Ar Rabi ibn Zayd."[Umar ibn Al-Khattab]
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was still grieving over the death of Abu Bakr Siddiq in Madinah. Every day ambassadors came to Yathrib from all directions, pledged allegiance to the Caliph 'Umar ibn Khattab, and promised to always carry out his orders.
One day, as usual, ambassadors came to the Commander of the Faithful, including the ambassadors of Bahrain. Farrukh listened to them attentively as usual. He was expecting from them a good offer or good news or advice needed for religion. He looked at one of them and saw that he was dissatisfied with something.
The caliph asked him curiously, "Tell me what happened to you."
Praising Allah, the man said: “O Commander of the Believers! Being the ruler of the believers is a test for you from Allah Almighty. Fear Allah, this is your responsibility, know that if a sheep disappears from the banks of the Euphrates, you will be asked for it on the Day of Resurrection.
'Umar's tears began to flow and they said, "No one has spoken to me as openly as you have since I became caliph. What is your name?"
"Ar Rabi ibn Zayd al-Harithi," said the man.
"Are you the brother of Muhajir ibn Zayd?" 'Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) asked.
"Yes," said the man.
When the meeting was over, 'Umar ibn al-Khattab called Abu Musa al-Ash'ari and said to him, "You are this man. Pay attention to Ar-Rabi' ibn Zayd. if he is truly honest, he will bring us many good things and help us in our work. If so, command him and write to me about him.
Shortly afterwards, by order of the Caliph, Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) gathered an army and set out to conquer Manazir (a Persian city located in the territory of Manazir Awhaz). Ar-Rabi 'ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) and his brother Muhajir (may Allah be pleased with him) were also in this army.

After the siege of Manazir, Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) prepared for a ruthless war, such battles are rare in history. Suddenly the polytheists were also preparing for this battle. In this battle, the Muslims lost a large number of their warriors, who saw the various ordeals that befell their destiny. In those days, when the month of Ramadan had begun, the Muslims were struggling to fast. Muhajir, the brother of Ar Rabi ibn Zayd (may Allaah be pleased with him), saw that a large number of Muslims had perished and decided to sacrifice themselves in the way of Allaah. He struggled until he fell into the shroud he had prepared for the dead. And he showed courage to his brother…
Ar-Rabi 'came to Abu Musa and said, "The Muhajireen decided to sacrifice himself." Moreover, the fasting Muslims were exhausted from their fasts due to the fierce fighting. You have to take action against them. "
Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) looked at the warriors and said, “O community of Muslims! I urge you, every fasting person, to break the fast, even if it means leaving the war. He then drank water from the mesh next to him and showed it to the people.
When Abu Musa al-Ash'ari heard this, Muhajir drank from the water and said, 'By Allah! I did not drink because I was thirsty, but I opened my mouth to obey my commander. ”
Then he took his sharp sword and went on the attack against the enemies. He did not spare the enemies of Allah. When he fell into the midst of the enemy, he was attacked from all sides and Muhajir (may Allah be pleased with him) was heroically martyred on the battlefield. The head of the Muhajireen was cut off by the enemy and hung over the fort on the battlefield.
Al-Rabi '(may Allaah be pleased with him) saw this and said,' May goodness be upon you and may your place be a beautiful place. By Allaah! I will take revenge on you and other Muslims. "
When Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) saw Ar Rabi '(may Allah be pleased with him) seeing his brother's head, he was angry and with his chest against the enemies of Allah, so he commanded the warriors and he said, "Shut up." sent to conquer.
For example, like a strong storm, Ar Rabi (may Allah be pleased with him) and his army dealt a severe blow to the polytheists. Huge castles crumbled like stones left in a storm. The Muslims surrounded the enemy and, with the help of Allah, defeated them. Ar-Rabi 'ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) broke through the fort and captured Manazir. They killed many of the enemy and captured women and children. The Muslims took great booty, which was the will of Allah.

After the battle of Manazir, the name of Ar Rabi ibn Zayd became an epic in every language. He was an exemplary commander and his deeds were an example to others. When the Muslims tried to conquer Sijistan, they took Ar Rabi (ra) as their commander and estimated that he would be able to do so.

In the name of Allah, Ar-Rabi 'ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) set out as the leader of his army. The Muslims who rode to Zijiniston had to cross 75 miles of Sahara, even the wild beasts of the desert. Muslims were the first to encounter the city of Rustaq-Zalik. The lands belonged to the territory of Sijiniston. The city was adorned with very luxurious palaces and fortified forts, with many treasures, surrounded by fertile, fruitful lands.

The experienced commander wanted to bring his message by sending his spies to him before entering the city. After them, I learned that his people were going to celebrate their holiday soon. Ar Rabi (may Allah be pleased with him) tried to invade the night of Eid with a single attack. His plan came to fruition and the Muslim army was soon able to defeat the Persians. They captured 20 people, including the chief of the tribe. Another criminal was arrested among them. 300 dirhams came out of it. The money belonged to his master.
Ar-Rabi 'asked him, "Where did this come from?"
“This money is a tax collected from a village, it belongs to my boss,” he said.
"Does a village collect so much money for him every year?" Said Ar Rabi (may Allah be pleased with him).
"Yes," said the prisoner.
"Where does they have so much wealth?" Ar-Rabi 'asked.
"People sweat it out and find it a cocktail." Said the captive.

When the war was over, he came to Ar-Rabi, the chief of his tribe, and asked him to release him and his family at his own expense.
Ar-Rabi 'said to him, "I will accept your offer if you are generous to the Muslims."
"How much do you want?" Asked the chief of the tribe.
"I will throw my spear into the ground, and you will not bury it with gold and silver until it is buried." Said Ar Rabi (may Allah be pleased with him).
"I agree," said the chief.
Then he took out the gold and silver and all the treasure from his treasury and began to scatter it on the spear until the spear disappeared.

With his victorious army, Ar Rabi ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) settled Sijistan deep in the ground. One by one each of the castles surrendered under his spear. The autumn wind was blowing at that time. The people of the towns and villages greeted the army of Ar-Rabi (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in peace, and they did not resist him, asking for safety for themselves before they drew their swords. The procession continued as far as the Zijan capital, Zaranja. There they encountered a well-prepared, strong army against the Muslims. They rebelled against the army of Ar-Rabi (may Allah be pleased with him) and escalated the bloody war so that they would no longer occupy the lands of Sijistan, and there were many more casualties on both sides. When the victory of the Muslims became apparent, the leader of the enemy sent an envoy named Barwiz in a hurry to negotiate peacefully with Ar Rabi (may Allah be pleased with him). Even if he still has good power at hand. In this way he sought a peaceful life for himself and his people. Barwiz went to Ar Rabi ibn Zayd (ra) to negotiate peacefully within the agreed time.
Ar Rabi (may Allah be pleased with him) ordered his people to prepare a place to meet Barviz. He ordered that the dead bodies of the Persians be placed on both sides of the road near that place, so that Barviz could pass by.
Ar Rabi (may Allah be pleased with him) was a tall man with a big head and a big body. Everyone would pray when they saw him. When Barviz came to him, he began to fear Ar Rabi (may Allah be pleased with him). He was also horrified to see the dead. Even he did not dare to approach Ar Rabi (ra), and in a trembling voice from fear he offered Ar Rabi (ra) to make a peace treaty with Barviz and hand it over to him with a full golden hum on his head. Ar Rabi (may Allaah be pleased with him) agreed to this offer. The next morning, Ar Rabi ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) was among the young men sent to him in the city. He came in screaming. This event was a memorable day in the history of Muslims.

Al-Rabi 'ibn Zayd (may Allaah be pleased with him) drew his sword and cut off the heads of the enemies of Allaah. He conquered new cities for the Muslims and handed over many provinces to them. Even the Umayyad dynasty came into being there. During the caliphate of Mawiya ibn Abu Sufyan, Ar Rabi (may Allah be pleased with him) was appointed governor of Khurasan. But he had no inclination for the position. When the province belonged to him, an envoy from the Ummah came to him and said:
Mu'awiyah ibn Abu Sufyan, the Caliph of the Muslims, commanded you to send every gold and silver captured in battle to the treasury of the Muslims and distribute the rest among the Mujahideen.
In response to the letter brought by the ambassador, Ar-Rabi said:
“I saw a verse in the Book of Allah Almighty that Allah forbade us to do as You commanded. “If you believe in what We have sent down to Our servant on the Day of Divorce, on the day when the two armies clash, then know that one-fifth of what you have taken as booty is for Allah and the Prophet and his relatives. The orphan is for the poor and the strangers. God has power over all things. (Surat al-Anfal, 41) According to this verse, four-fifths of the spoils went to the warriors, and one-fifth went to those above them.
Then he said to the people:
"Take your spoils, and we will send one-fifth of it to Damascus for the caliph."
The following Friday, a week after the arrival of the Messenger, Ar-Rabi 'ibn Zayd went out to pray dressed in white. And in his Friday sermon, he said to the Muslims, “O people! This life has fed me. I pray to Allah. Please, say, "Amen." Then he prayed, “O Allah! If you wish me well, call me to your presence as soon as possible… »
The people all said, "Amen."
On that day, before sunset, Ar Rabi ibn Zayd ascended to the Lord. May Allah be pleased with him, "Amen!"
