How are teeth cleaned?

The stores have about a hundred different types of toothpaste, dozens of types of toothbrushes. According to doctors, they are of little use. After all, 18 percent of those over the age of sixty have no teeth at all, and 40 percent of adolescents suffer from periodontal disease and caries. The implication is that most toothbrush and toothpaste manufacturers are easily deceived by buyers by forcing advertising.
"That's why we shouldn't trust advertisements so much," says O. Popovkina, a doctor at the Dental Research Institute. - For example, the words "healing paste" are a lie. Sometimes the paste is made from natural products, which can be easily used by children. This is also a lie. In general, natural pastes are not produced. If no preservative is added, it will spoil immediately. Such pastes should only be stored in the freezer. There are also no pastes that do not have a negative effect when children swallow. Therefore, teach children to be careful of such chemicals.
Carefully read the contents of the toothpaste. For example, don't be afraid of the words "chloride flame." This compound reduces the sensitivity of the hard layer of the tooth, eliminating bacteria more effectively than the advertised "triclosan". Keep in mind, however, that you should not use pastes with antibacterial agents for more than three weeks without a break. Otherwise, along with the harmful bacteria, the beneficial ones will also be destroyed and dysbacteriosis will begin. Phytic acid prevents tooth blackening, reduces the risk of tartar formation. Sodium fluoride helps to restore the enamel layer of the tooth, prevents caries.
Don't even believe the inscription, "This paste whitens teeth." In fact, teeth whitening is a long-term treatment that is performed with the help of a dentist. In doing so, the doctor uses acids that partially break down the tooth enamel layer. After brushing your teeth in this way, you should not drink coffee, tea, or eat foods that contain food dyes for a certain period of time, otherwise the teeth will darken quickly. Pastes do not whiten teeth, but only contain hydrogen peroxide, which brightens the outside of the teeth after drinking tea, coffee and smoking. With toothpastes containing lime, soda, dicalcium phosphate, aluminum, silicon and other abrasives, you only need to brush your teeth once a week. Otherwise, the enamel layer of the tooth will erode and painful areas will form. Note the abrasion index of the paste: its maximum level should not exceed 200.
Toothbrushes are also constantly being improved. But no matter how much they are updated, the basic requirement does not change: the brush should not be stiff. The more compact its brushed part, the more comfortable its movement in the oral cavity will be. Be sure to update it when your toothbrush becomes bent. It is best to use a different brush every three months. Most people only spend 40 seconds brushing their teeth with toothpaste, when in fact, doctors recommend brushing your teeth for two minutes.
