Taroveh prayers
The Arabic word “taraweeh” in the dictionary means “rest; enjoy. ” It is so named because it is a little rested after reciting all four rak'ahs of the twenty rak'ahs of Ramadan. His time comes in the month of Ramadan after the night prayer and continues until the time of dawn.
The Taraweeh prayer is one of the prescribed sunnahs. Studying in congregation is a sufficient circumcision for the people of the neighborhood. That is, if some people recite the taraweeh in congregation, the sunnah of reciting it in congregation will be abolished. But if there is no congregation in a neighborhood, then everyone in that neighborhood is considered to have abandoned circumcision.
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurayra that
“The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) encouraged people to stay awake during the nights of Ramadaan, but they did not give strict orders. U zot: "Whoever stays in Ramadan with faith and hope for reward, his past sins will be forgiven." they would say. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) died. Then it was the same in the caliphate of Abu Bakr and at the beginning of the caliphate of 'Umar.
Narrated by Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, al-Tirmidhi, al-Nasa'i.
Clearly, praying on the nights of Ramadan is a very virtuous act. The forgiveness of sins is also due to this work. However, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not command a specific prayer, but merely preached it. The same situation continued during the caliphate of Abu Bakr. The prohibition of certain prayers on the nights of Ramadan continued in the early years of 'Umar's caliphate.
It is narrated on the authority of 'A'isha that:
“The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) went out at night and prayed in the mosque. The people also followed him. After dawn, people talked about it. Then they gathered more and prayed with him. People talked about it too. On the third night, the mosque crowd increased. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came out and prayed. They followed him. On the fourth night, the mosque was unable to accommodate the people. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) went out for Fajr prayer. After the prayer, they turned to the people and said: “Your condition was not a secret to me. But (prayer) I was afraid that you would be obligated to him and then you would be helpless in his service. ", they said. This was the case when the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) died.
Narrated by Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud.
In the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), the rules of Islam were valid, but not all of them were valid. If the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) continued to pray in congregation at night with the people, then the divine command that this prayer was obligatory upon you would be revealed, and then people would not be able to perform this prayer on the nights of Ramadaan and would be sinners. 'rqqanlar.
It is narrated on the authority of 'Abdur-Rahman ibn' Abd al-Qari:
'Umar ibn Khattab went to the mosque one night during Ramadan. We see people in groups, scattered: someone is praying alone, someone is praying, and a few people are following him. 'Umar said, "I think it would be better for me to gather them together." Then he gathered them behind Ubayy ibn Ka'b. Then another night when I went out with him again, people would follow the qari and pray. 'Umar said, "What a good innovation." It is better to be asleep than to be asleep at this time. " People would get up early at night. ”
Narrated by Bukhari.
Caliph 'Umar came to this conclusion when he saw Muslims scattered on the nights of Ramadan.
During his lifetime, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to lead the Companions and spend the nights awake. However, the night prayer of Ramadan became obligatory for the whole Ummah, and they did not organize regular prayers at night so that it would not be difficult.
In addition, during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), the rules of the Shari'ah were constantly being supplemented. If one sentence is introduced today, another tomorrow, and so on. Judgments were enforced by the questions of some people, sometimes by their actions, and sometimes by other things.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to say that it is obligatory for people to gather on their own and pray in congregation at night. If such a prayer became obligatory on the nights of Ramadan, it would be difficult for some people. This was the only thought of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Otherwise, nothing else would have prevented him from performing supererogatory prayers in congregation with Muslims on the nights of Ramadan. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) himself used to perform this prayer and used to preach it to the Companions.
Now the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) passed away to Rafiq al-'Ala. The rules of Sharia were perfect. Allah will not send revelation to anyone after him. A prayer cannot be fard or wajib. In particular, it is no longer possible for Muslims to be obligated or obligated to perform supererogatory prayers at night. Isn't it better for them to pray in congregation than to be scattered like they are now, to spend Ramadan nights differently?
It was narrated on the authority of 'Abdur-Rahman ibn' Abd that 'Umar himself was pleased with this and said, “What a good innovation. It is better to be asleep than to be asleep at this time. " It should be noted here that bid'ah can be of two kinds, good and bad, as stated by a great man like Umar.
It is clear from these hadiths that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) made it sunnah for the Sahaabah to perform the taraweeh prayer and to perform it in congregation. But he did not recite twenty rak'ahs with them. However, since the time of 'Umar, twenty rak'ahs of taraweeh have been recited. Every time the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) went out to the mosque and recited the taraweeh, the number of people in the mosque increased. When they came out for the third time, the mosque was overcrowded. After that, they did not fear that taraweeh would become obligatory for the ummah. In other narrations, there are hadiths on this subject.
During his caliphate, 'Umar gathered people in the mosque on the nights of Ramadan, introduced the taraweeh for twenty rak'ahs, and introduced it to the congregation. None of the Companions objected to this. Caliphs like 'Uthman and' Ali after 'Umar did not stop this practice. However, these great people never persevered in the face of heresy in the religion, but stopped it if it was heresy. The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said in a hadeeth: “My Sunnah and Rashid and Mahdi (i.e. guidance, one who walks on the right path) Take the circumcision of my caliphs and bite it with your wisdom teeth. (Narrated by Abu Dawud).
The taraweeh prayer is twenty rak'ahs in addition to the witr. His time comes after the night prayer and continues until the time of the morning prayer. It is correct to perform the Taraweeh prayer both before and after the showcase. But the preference is to recite the taraweeh before the window. The taraweeh is recited in two rak'ahs, and after each of the four rak'ahs, one sits down to rest. The Companions did the same. The worshiper engages in dhikr and tasbeeh during this sitting or remains silent.
In our lands it is customary to recite rosaries at this place as follows:
“Subhaana zil mulki val malakuut, subhaana zil ʼizzati val ʼazomati val qudroti val kibriyaai val jabaruut. Subhaanal malikil hayyillaziy laa yamuut. Subbuuhun qudduusur Robbunaa wa Robbul malaaikati var-ruuh, Laa ilaaha illalohu nastagfirullah, nas-alukal jannata wa naʼuuzu bika minan naar ”.
Meaning: “I glorify and remember the Lord of property and angels! I glorify and remember the Lord of glory, majesty, power, glory, and dominion! I will remember Hayy, Malik, who will never die! He is Subbuh, Jerusalem, our Lord, the Lord of the angels and the Spirit. There is no god but Allah. We ask Allah for forgiveness. We ask You for Paradise and We seek refuge in You from Hell. ”.
One of the sunnah acts of the month of Ramadan is to recite the Qur'an once during the Taraweeh prayers. The Imam, in keeping with the state of the congregation, speeds up the recitation a little, but the condition is that the speed should not be such that it disrupts the prayer or that the worshipers do not understand. If the people are tired of reciting the Qur'an during the Taraweeh prayers, the Imam does not take into account their tiredness, but performs the Sunnah. In the Taraweeh, it is makrooh to recite the surah of Zam after the Fatihah for less than one long verse or three short verses, because there is an omission of the wajib.
Both rak'ahs of the taraweeh are independent prayers, with special intentions, and after the takbeer, the sana and the A'uzu ʼ and the Bismillah are recited. Additional salawat, supplications, etc. are added to the tashahhud.
It is also permissible to perform the Taraweeh prayers while sitting. But if he reads while standing, it is better to read while sitting. It is permissible for a follower of the Imam to perform iqtaamah while he is sitting, but it is makrooh to delay the qiyamah until he is able to stand up and bow before the imam. Because it shows that he is lazy in prayer.
It is better to perform the Taraweeh prayer in the mosque. After all, according to the Shari'a, the preference for prayers performed as a congregation is in the mosque.
When the time for the taraweeh prayer is over, the qadha is not performed, because the qadha is for obligatory and obligatory deeds. Even if a person recites the qadha of taraweeh, it will be included in the list of absolute supererogatory prayers, and it will not replace the taraweeh.
The Taraweeh prayer is not a sunnah of fasting, but a sunnah of the month of Ramadan. Therefore, performing the taraweeh prayer is sunnah for the stranger, as well as for the sick person who has not fasted. It is known that these people did not have to fast. At the same time, it is sunnah for women who are menstruating and menstruating to recite taraweeh if they are clean at the end of the day.
