The procedure for nostrification of diplomas of foreign universities has been in force in Uzbekistan since 2000. In 2017, 417 educational documents were recognized, in 2019, 3327 educational documents were nostrified and certificates were issued in the prescribed manner. In the last 3-4 years, the current nostrification procedure has been relatively simplified, and many benefits have been created for citizens in this regard.
Nevertheless, many issues related to the recognition of diplomas of foreign educational institutions in Uzbekistan, the continuation of master's degrees in Uzbekistan with a bachelor's degree and the nostrification of diplomas remain relevant. The population has a lot of questions and problems on these issues. Nizomjon Ishankulov, Head of the Department for Legalization, Recognition and Nostrification of Education Documents of the State Inspectorate for Quality Control in Education and Head of the Information Service Shavkat Khojakulov answered questions on this topic, UzA reported.
- Do we accept a two-year diploma of the second specialty of the Higher Education Institution of Kazakhstan?
- The diploma of the second foreign specialty, including two years of study, must correspond to the number of hours of study not less than the norms established by the Law of Uzbekistan on Education. In other words, we have a bachelor's degree for at least 4 years. From this it can be concluded that the deadlines set for the bachelor's degree must be met even when studying in the second specialty.
Kazakhstan has a Bologna credit module education system. According to our requirements, a bachelor must have accumulated more than 3 credits for at least 240 years. It is usually not possible to accumulate 2 credits in a 240-year study process. This means that this diploma will not be held in Uzbekistan.
Unfortunately, due to the misguided propaganda of higher education institutions in neighboring countries, some people apply to various universities and, as a result, receive diplomas that do not pass in Uzbekistan. It would be right for our citizens to turn to the law and get information about the nostrification of diplomas, without following the propaganda of different people.

- Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 620 clearly states in what cases the diplomas of foreign universities are rejected. The first requirement is that the foreign higher education institution must be licensed to provide services in this type of education. In addition, the higher education institution and its educational programs must be accredited by the competent authorities of the state in which it is located. There is also a requirement for a standard term. Applicants applying to foreign higher education institutions should get acquainted with the fact that the hours of study there meet the requirements for the established standard terms of study. Also, the form of education must meet the requirements of the legislation of Uzbekistan. Citizens should study the normative terms of the educational institution before enrollment, if the enrollment is in the credit module system, the established credit volumes, and then submit a diploma. If these criteria are not met, a foreign university diploma may not be recognized in Uzbekistan. He should also be interested in information about the accreditation of a foreign educational institution.

A graduate who has studied at such an educational institution may face a problem in nostrifying his diploma tomorrow and even getting a job.
