Republic of Honduras
Honduras (Honduras), Republic of Honduras (República de Honduras) is a country in Central America. It is bounded on the north by the Caribbean Sea and on the southwest by the Gulf of Fonseca in the Pacific Ocean. Area 112088 km2. A total of 9,2 mln. person (2019). The capital is Tegusigalpa. Administratively, it is divided into 18 departments, departments into districts, and districts into municipalities.
State system
Honduras — Republic. The current constitution was adopted on June 1965, 5; Corrections were made in 1981 and 1982. The head of state and government is the president. He is elected by universal suffrage and by secret ballot for a term of 4 years (cannot be re-elected). The legislature is a unicameral parliament - the National Assembly.
