Internet access is not important for all applications. However, some of them are actively consuming traffic with actions such as checking for updates or sending employee data. This is especially annoying when using a limited connection (e.g. when the Internet is streaming from a smartphone).

For such cases, Windows has a built-in function that allows a certain program to restrict Internet access completely or when connecting to certain networks.

To do this, the following sequence of actions is performed:

1️⃣. Using the WIN + R key combination, call the Execute window on the screen and enter the command firewall.cpl and launch the Brandmauer by pressing the ENTER key.

2️⃣. Click on "Advanced Settings" and select "Right for output connection".

3️⃣. Click on "Create rule" in the right row.

4️⃣. Select "For programs".

5️⃣. We will show you the way to the program where the Internet should be blocked.

6️⃣. We will put a bird symbol in front of the item "Block connections".

7️⃣. If necessary, it is possible to specify the specific networks to which this rule applies.

8️⃣. Be sure to name and describe the rule clearly to make it easier to find in the future.

9️⃣. Click Done.
