Taklamacon Desert, China 🇨🇳

Taklamakan Desert, one of the largest and most dangerous deserts in the world, lies in the Tarim Depression between the Tien Shan and Kunlun Mountains. The area of the Taklamakan desert is 337 square kilometers. The desert is located in the center of the Tarim Basin. To the east, Taklamakan joins the Gobi Desert in the area of Lake Lobnor. Takla-Makan sand dunes stretch 1,5 thousand kilometers from east to west and 650 km from north to south. Takla-Makan is derived from the ancient language and means "desert of death". The Taklamakan desert can be called a classic desert, because its climate is one of the harshest on the planet. Since the "desert of death" receives only 50 mm of precipitation, sandstorms, especially dust storms, are not uncommon. Today, China is rapidly exploiting the Taklamakan desert economically.
