Lotse is the fourth mountain in the world with a height of 8516 meters. Lotse comes from the Tibetan language and means "south". It (Tibet) is located between China and the Kumbu region of Nepal. The conquest of Lotse began in the 1955 International Himalayan Expedition. The expedition led by Norman Dyhrenfurt included 2 Australians and 2 Swiss. They go to the western and northern parts of Lotse in October, November, but turn back due to strong winds. Even a film was made about this expedition. On May 1956, 18, members of the Swiss expedition climbed to the top of Lotse for the first time. The last expedition to Lhotse was in 2008, when 371 people climbed and 20 people died.
