The only Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute in Central Asia was established in 1972 in the former Soviet Union as the Central Asian Institute of Pediatric Medicine and became known as the Central Asian Pediatric Medical Institute - SAMPI.
By the order of the Ministry of Health No. 1988 of March 22, 226, the institute was transferred to the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan and renamed the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute.
