Juraev Tokhtamurod Juraevich (1934.25.10, Tashkent - 2008) - Mathematical Scientist, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan (1989), Honored Scientist of Uzbekistan (1991), Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (1972), Professor (1973).
Graduated from Tashkent State University (1958), Director of the Institute of Mechanics and Seismic Strength of Structures of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan (1974-85), Director of the Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan (1985-92 and 1997), Rector of Tashkent State University (1992-95), President of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan (1995-2000).
His research interests include special derivative differential equations and boundary layer theory. In his work on mixed and mixed-type equations, new boundary value problems have been studied and important results have been obtained; his work on the theory of boundary layer, which has important applications in mathematical physics, is of great importance.
Tokhtamurod Juraev is a member of several international academies and international societies. Co-author of the multi-volume textbook "Fundamentals of Higher Mathematics" (1, 2, T., 1999). Deputy of the Oliy Kengash of the Republic of Uzbekistan (1992-95), 1st convocation. Laureate of the Beruni State Prize of Uzbekistan (1974). He was awarded the Order of Friendship (1996) and the Order of Labor Glory (1999).
