ABOUT "CHEREPNOYE DAVLENIYE"

(Part I)

The phrase "cherepnoye davleniye" is so common among people that sometimes one can think deeply. There was no doctor left who would not make this diagnosis, apparently. In fact, why do other categories of doctors make this diagnosis, which is made by a neurologist on the basis of in-depth neurological examinations? Do they have a legal right to do so? Most people are not afraid of high blood pressure, but of "cherepnoye davleniye." Why? Now the same diagnosis is made for a newborn baby, as well as for the elderly. What, is this disease so prevalent, or has there been an increase in unfounded diagnoses?

Answer: The skull is called "cherep" in Russian and "sranium" in Latin. Vnutricherepnoye davleniye in Russian translates into Uzbek as "intracranial pressure." So is an increase in intracranial pressure or intracranial hypertension really common? Not at all! Among the causes of headaches is an increase in intracranial pressure of only 12 percent. Not only doctors, but also people themselves make the diagnosis of "Cherepnoye davleniye". Even when I go to the mother-in-law who sells worms and pistachios in front of the old shop in the neighborhood, she says that my head hurts a lot, it hurts all the time.

Of all the causes of headaches, the increase in intracranial pressure is only 10-12%. Moreover, there is no diagnosis of “intracranial pressure”. Everyone has the internal pressure of the brain. It is also called cerebrospinal fluid pressure. The cerebrospinal fluid pressure is 100-200 mm Hg in the horizontal position and 200-400 mm Hg in the sitting position. Just like blood pressure. For example, everyone has high blood pressure, and it is normally 120/70 mm. equal to the mercury column. In some adults, a 140/90 mm mercury column is also the norm. The unit of measurement of arterial blood pressure is written in mm Hg, and cerebrospinal pressure is written in mm Hg. In fact, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is checked by taking spinal fluid.
