What do we know about the presidency
- The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is the head of state and ensures the coordinated functioning and cooperation of public authorities;
- A citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan not younger than thirty-five years of age, fluent in the state language and permanently residing in the territory of Uzbekistan for at least 10 years prior to direct elections may be elected President. The same person may not be President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for more than two consecutive terms;
- The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is elected by the citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the basis of universal, equal and direct suffrage by secret ballot for a term of five years.
