Wolf tanglay (tanglay crack) and rabbit lip (cheilolizis)

A crack in the middle of the palate occurs as a result of the two halves of the palate or the upper jaw islets not joining together during embryonic development. Occurs in one in 2500 babies.

The main reason is genetic mutations that occur in the embryonic period.

Forms:
• Failure to close the soft palate
• Do not cover part of the soft and hard palate
• Incomplete one-sided complete closure of hard and soft palate
• Incomplete double-sided closure

Signs:
• Breastfeeding
• Swallow
• Difficulty breathing.

The treatment is performed only surgically, through multi-stage surgery, lip augmentation and palate uranoplasty.
