Celsius and Fahrenheit!

Interestingly, the two measurements have the same value at -40, so -40°C corresponds to -40°F.

The Celsius scale was created in 1742 by the Swedish astronomer Anders Celsius based on multiples of 10, with the freezing point of water at 0 °C and the boiling point at 100 °C.

The Fahrenheit scale was created in 1724 by German scientist Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit, who used a mixture of salt and water as the zero point and the human body temperature of 96°F.

The Celsius scale is more widely used in the world because it is part of the metric system and is easier to convert and calculate.

The United States and several other countries use the Fahrenheit scale mainly for historical and cultural reasons.
