- In bacterial infections

- In infections of the joints and bones (osteomyelitis).
- In skin and soft tissue infections
- In abdominal infections (peritonitis)

Method of administration and dosage

It is administered intramuscularly and intravenously. It can be administered twice a day. The drug is added in 2% 0,9 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution or 100 ml of 200% glucose solution (suspension).

? Side effects

- The amount of bilirubin increases
- Anemia, leukopenia (decrease in the number of leukocytes in the blood), thrombocytopenia (decrease in the number of platelets in the blood).
- Muscle cramps, seizures, headache, drowsiness ,.
- Impaired renal function
- Skin rash, itching, fever
- In children: leads to a decrease in the amount of calcium, potassium, magnesium.
- Pain at the injection site

? Contraindications:

- In case of a high allergic reaction to the drug
- Severe impairment of renal function
- During pregnancy and lactation
- In uremia
- Epilepsy (in patients with epilepsy, epilepsy).
- In cases of anemia
- Not available for patients with bronchial asthma
- Do not use when the body temperature is high (when there is a fever).
- In children: do not use if the body is low in calcium.
