Greens —— Interview
Usually, young singers start creating by imitating someone. However, our today's interlocutor, Greens, is a singer who never imitates anyone. Our conversation with him today was mainly about songs.
- Greens, have you really not imitated anyone in your work?
Greens: — No! I have never really imitated anyone! I was afraid of imitation and I don't like imitation. I have a few mentors in voice tuning, direction, but they are not well known. This is actually the reason why I did not become an apprentice to famous artists. Because I'm afraid of falling into a mold. If you become a disciple of a famous person, you begin to imitate him, whether you like it or not. I avoid this. This is my personal opinion. I want to create something original.
- Whose songs do you mostly listen to?
Greens: I don't listen to one song all the time. I made this a strict rule for myself. The reason is that my direction doesn't sound like that artist's, and also that when we're creating a new song, I don't accidentally sound like an artist's song without realizing it. I do not regularly listen to the songs of our Uzbek artists. But, to get a conclusion for myself, to be aware of the news, I listen to new songs of all artists only once or twice.
— How would you react if someone sings your hit songs?
Greens: - I have a positive attitude towards it! Because I will never be jealous! I do not have such a habit! I have a habit of giving away whatever someone asks. Therefore, in this regard, I have a positive attitude. Recently, a young artist asked permission to sing my song "Qadri Osmanim" at weddings. I agreed and gave him the song for the project. In addition, my close friend, Rustam, who works under the pseudonym John Rumi, asked for the originals of my songs. He could not get it from the Internet. I agreed with him and gave him the project. He said, "Aren't you angry?" he asked. "No," I said. Because, "What is left of a person in this world? This is what he is doing! After all, this is our creation, we are creating so that people will remember them and sing about them! That's why I'm not angry!" I said. I told my friend about it. And he was very surprised.
- Have you ever sung someone's song when you liked it?
Greens: — I grew up listening to the songs of folk artists of Uzbekistan, Yulduz Usmanova, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, and Gulsanam Mamazoitova. I have memorized almost all their songs since childhood. I can sing for now! If they ask, I can sing it from memory willingly.
- Who do you intend to sing a duet with? Why did you choose that singer as a duet partner?
Green: — Munisa Rizayeva! Of course, creativity cannot be equaled with man! His creative experience, creative "baggage" is huge! I consider him a perfect artist in showbiz. If I had a chance, I would definitely sing a duet! One of my dreams is to sing a duet with Munisa Rizayeva.
- Which of the foreign singers would you like to sing a duet with?
Greens: - I would really like to sing a duet with the Turkish singer Tarkan. Because it has a strong uniqueness.
— Do you see yourself as an artist or a dentist in the future?
Greens: — I think more artistic! It's true that even though medicine is a profession that benefits the people more, I find artistry more difficult. I think my love for him is stronger. I'm thinking more about it now. But time will tell!
