Literary studies are often given the task of memorizing poetry. Do you remember poems easily? It is not easy for everyone to remember and express a poem. Memory capacity is different. However, there is a solution to this problem. At first glance, the following methods may seem difficult and require a lot of knowledge. But if you follow them and gradually improve your skills, over time you will start to memorize any poem faster and better.
-
Start your homework by memorizing a poem. First, read the poem to yourself. When memorizing classic or dramatic poems, you may encounter outdated words, names, and changes. Find out what they mean and study them carefully. If you are memorizing a poem that describes an event (epic, ballad, or event poem), remember the sequence of the process.
-
Read the poem aloud several times. This makes it easier to learn.
-
Now try to recite the poem. Find out what you can’t remember by looking at the book.
-
Copy the poem on a piece of paper and divide it into parts. Separate each byte with a pencil.
-
Try to read the words expressively. Speak slowly where you need to say it slowly and loudly where you want to say it.
-
Read the first verse aloud, then repeat it 5-7 times without looking at the page. Memorize the next rows in the same order.
-
Read aloud aloud. Then you will feel that the lines of the poem come to mind by themselves.
-
Write the title of each line on a piece of paper. Based on this, try to recite the poem in full.
-
As the lines of the poem become etched in your memory, try to recite them regardless of the text.
-
Repeat the memorized poem before going to bed and after waking up. Then it will be deeper in your memory.
