The cream should contain lanolin or glycerin. They create a thin layer that protects the lacquered surface from cracks and make the shoe shiny.
Faux Leather. Wipe such shoes with a damp cloth every day. If it is a rainy day, apply a cream. However, creams for leather shoes should not be used. This is because the wax in the shoe absorbs the mud instead of absorbing it into the shoes.
Soft leather (suede). It is recommended to wipe black and brown shoes with a damp cloth, and other colors for dry cleaning. Such shoes should be cleaned with a special brush. Apply once a week with a special waterproof spray. If it rains every day, this should be repeated several times a week.
