The calculation of the KETLE index is as follows. For example, a woman is 1,6 meters tall and weighs 60 kg. To do this, you need to divide the weight by the square of the height indicator.

That is, 60: (1,60 × 1,60) = 23,44. So, in this case, the index is 23,44.

For men, the normative size of the KETLE index should be in the range of 19-25, and for women in the range of 19-24.

John McCALLUM formula

It is considered one of the most effective formulas for measuring weight and was developed by stylist John McCallum. It is enough to measure the circumference of the wrist on the basis of the formula. Accordingly:

  • When determining the size of the chest circumference, you multiply the size of the wrist circumference by 6,5.
  • The circumference of the buttocks is equal to 85% of the figure formed in the circumference of the chest.
  • The waist circumference is 75% of the chest circumference size.
  • 37% of the chest circumference is equal to the circumference of the neck.
  • The size of the muscle that connects the shoulder to the elbow is 36 percent of the chest circumference.
  • The wrist circumference should be equal to 29% of the chest circumference.

Of course, these calculations are only a relative approach. In fact, each organism has an acceptable weight index for itself.
