Sumac There are various legends about the formation of the festival as a holiday. One of them is that the farmer sows the last grain he has taken earlier with good intentions in order to sow it faster. But suddenly the weather breaks down. Wheat begins to sprout in the pot, and the weather does not improve. The farmer begins to look for ways not to completely destroy the wheat when family members are hungry. He takes a risk and grinds the grain, which is much taller, and orders his wife to cook from it. The housewife boils it for a long time. See, the intention of the good farmer is objective. It smells good, is nutritious, and tastes so sweet that it will be remembered for a long time. This dish is becoming increasingly popular among the people and is becoming the most delicious dish of spring.

The sumalak festival consisted of two parts: sumalak preparation and sumalak-eating.

Sumalak is made mainly by women. There is a special ritual of making sumalak. They built conversations around the cauldron, telling stories, tales, legends and anecdotes. When the meal was ready, the sumalak festival began. The participants of the Sumalak festival danced to the sound of drums and sang songs.

Sumalak festival has long fostered a sense of solidarity and harmony in people. Neighbors brought a handful of flour to the place where the sumalak was prepared, cooked together, and everyone shared the food cooked in a pot.
