A few years ago, Begovich was included in the Guinness Book of Records. In November 2013, Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic made Premier League history. The Bosnian scored for Southampton in the 13th second of the match, scoring the 'longest goal' from 91.9 meters.
Eight years later, in January 2021, Begovich’s record was broken by Newport County goalkeeper Tom King. The 25-year-old Welshman scored from 96.01 meters against Cheltenham. The Guinness Book of Records later confirmed the goalkeeper’s achievement. but Begovich was the best anyway.
