It is the most densely populated island in the world.
Located on the Colombian coast of the Caribbean, the island of Santa Cruz del Islota is the most densely populated island on earth. Its area is only 12 thousand square meters. About 97 houses have been built on one hectare of the island, where 1247 people live. One of the biggest shortcomings of the island is that the island has neither a beach nor a swimming pool. the deceased are buried on a neighboring island where no land has been set aside for a cemetery on the island.
The only source of fresh water on the island is rainfall. People first came to this island in the 19th century, hunting fish, lobsters and sea turtles. But the fish stocks quickly dried up and the locals were forced to settle for much lower incomes. Despite such problems, the population lives in harmony, even at night the doors are not locked, and in the evening the residents gather together to watch the series.
