The most famous and deadly pandemics in history

The most famous pandemic in history is the Spanish flu, recorded in January 1918 in the United States. Some researchers say the disease was brought to Europe by American troops and spread rapidly due to poor sanitation at the time. 550 million people were infected with this disease and 50 million people lost their lives because of it.

The deadliest infection in history is said to be the plague. The Justinian Plague spread from 541 to 750, and the Black Plague from 1346 to 1353. Each of them killed more than 100 million people during the outbreak. Our own pandemic was first recognized as a pandemic in December 2019 in Wuhan, China.
