You can go to the Tendjin Festival in Osaka on July 24-25. This holiday is one of the three most popular holidays in Japan. The first and second are, of course, the Sanno Festival in Tokyo and the Gion Festival in Kyoto. On the first day of the festival, a young boy who recommends the god Kami sits on a boat with an alabarda in his hand. Along with the child, a booth worker accompanies him. Together they sail along the river to a certain place, where the child throws the alebarda into the water. The custom of throwing this alebarda into the water is called khokonaga. The next day of the holiday, July 25, the main ceremony of the holiday will be funatogo. In the evening, boats full of more than 10 people at 100 a.m. sail across the Okawa Sea. Music can be heard everywhere, including the former ritual kagura music and of course the culmination of the Tendjin Festival, which is a brightly colored fireworks display.
