Today, December 7, is the day the United States entered World War II
🔹 On December 1941, 7, the largest US naval base, Pearl Harbor, located on the Hawaiian Islands in the Pacific Ocean, was suddenly attacked by the Japanese army.
The attack destroyed most of the American Pacific Fleet for two hours.
The attack came after the US imposed an embargo on oil supplies to Japan, as well as a freeze on Japanese assets and migration.
The attack is called Operation Hawaii.
🔹After this attack, the USA declared war on Japan and entered World War II.
