How to know if the body has increased salt?

- You want to drink water often;
- Swellings appear. Swelling occurs mainly in the joints of the fingers or feet, on the face;
- Vegetables, bread, cereals and other simple foods seem tasteless to you;
- Blood pressure rises.

When you eat a lot of salt, sodium accumulates in the body and can cause a persistent increase in blood pressure. It increases the risk of heart disease and stroke.

WHO recommends consuming no more than 5 grams of salt per day. The British National Health Service says that the permissible amount is up to 6 grams. That means one teaspoon.
