October 16 is International Bread Day

October 16 - October 16 is declared World Bread Day at the initiative of the United Nations Association of Food and Agriculture. The idea came to the minds of representatives of the International Bakers' Association in the 50s and was adopted at the 1979 meeting of the United Nations. Thus, those who worked in the bread-related business had their own professional holidays. Bread is a symbol of health, well-being and peace of mind, so on this day in all countries will be held exhibitions of confectionery products, baking master classes, exchange meetings of confectioners and bakers. World Bread Day is a ceremony rich in interesting dances, games and songs, both for folk festivals and stage performances. The participants of the holiday decorate their clothes with flowers, and in some houses they still greet the guests with bread and salt as before.
