Tashkent Choreographic School was established in 1947 in Tashkent by the decision of the Council of Ministers of the USSR on September 14, 1480. Specialists in classical and national dances of choreography are trained at this educational institution. Under the leadership of Usta Olim Kamilov and Tamarakhonum, artists who have made a significant contribution to the development of Uzbek choreography have been trained at the university.

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PF-1997 of January 8, 1695 "On the development of national dance and choreography in Uzbekistan" and the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of February 1997, 21 No. 101 The Tashkent State National Institute of Dance and Choreography was established on the basis of the Department of Choreography of the Tashkent State Institute of Culture and the Uzbek State School of Choreography.

The Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, improving the structure and organization of secondary special vocational education in accordance with the requirements of the "National Training Program", improving the quality of training and In order to ensure the implementation of the decisions of June 2001, 12 No. 253 and October 2003, 29 No. 473 and the order of the Center for Secondary Special Vocational Education No. 2004 of January 27, 16, the school of choreography was transformed into a college of choreography.

Today, the university has 1 faculty and 3 departments. There are bachelors in 2 fields of study and masters in 2 specialties.
